The Hawbridge School is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades 4-12. We encourage students from all North Carolina school districts to apply for admission.
Located in a restored mill on the banks of the Haw River in Saxapahaw, we’re a leader in the outdoor classroom movement, and our highly qualified, deeply committed faculty includes scientists, mathematicians, a composer, writers, editors, performers, visual artists, graphic designers, and a local (very local) radio personality–all of them highly accredited and committed to research-driven education.
Our faculty-designed Hawbridge Model involves differentiated, individualized instruction to foster academic, behavioral, emotional and social development; interdisciplinary teaching; place-based education; discovery-based learning; and most importantly, sustaining a community where everyone feels appreciated and included.
We are excited to announce that mobilization on our “upper school” begins the week of September 21, 2020!
The new school will serve grades 8-12 while the original building will house our “lower school” for grades K-7. The anticipated opening is August 2021.
