POSITION TITLE:
Office Support II at the Onslow Virtual School
REPORTS TO:
Principal
BEGINNING DATE:
Open Until Filled
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff and the public
Considerable knowledge of and ability to use grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation
Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures
Ability to keyboard with accuracy and speed
Ability to compile and summarize information
Ability to prioritize and schedule variable work
Significant organizational skills
Ability to exercise good judgement, take initiative, and work with minimal supervision when needed and in cooperation with multiple supervisors
Proficiency using PowerSchool
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High School Diploma Required
Two Years Experience in Related Positions
Experience Working in Onslow County Schools Preferred
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months
SALARY: Salary Grade 57 (Office Support II)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organizes cumulative student records for all OVS students.
Provides office support for a team of school counselors and administrators.
Enter data with accuracy at high speed with extra care and constant attention to the security of confidential student information.
Responds to and initiates student records requests.
Assists with revising and correcting student schedules.
Perform other duties, as necessary, to assist with school administration.
Reporting for face-to-face work at the offices for the Onslow Virtual School, which are located at 200 Broadhurst Road at this time but may be relocated to a different site in the future.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to be physically active, which includes, but is not limited to, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, sitting and walking.
Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to facilitate the evacuation of students in emergency situations and/or drills.
Must be able to effectively communicate with staff and students.
Must be able to drive to variety of locations necessary to conduct school business.
Must be able to tolerate a noisy, busy work environment with occasional very loud noises.
