Position available at our High School campus. (7815 Old Concord Rd; Charlotte, NC 28206)
In the absence of the regular classroom teacher; the substitute is expected to help students to learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms. Must be highly flexible and willing to be a part of an environment where everyone takes ownership of the success of all of the students and contributes in whatever way they can be most effective toward that end.
Face to face instruction: Our substitute teachers are constantly engaged with our students and expected to be actively monitoring what is happening in their classroom. When our substitutes are not assigned to fill in for a teacher they are actively engaged in other duties around the school in all areas of the building helping where needed. We are looking for individuals who will be up walking around and monitoring the students. This isn't a just sit and down and give out work packets kind of position. We look for our subs to engage with the students, review information, and reteach, if necessary.
No outside phone calls or drop-in visits, please.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24,000.00 - $36,000.00 per year
